FAQ
How does a counting scale actually work?
It weighs a small sample of a known quantity, calculates the average weight of a single piece from that sample, then divides the total platform weight by that unit weight to display a live piece count as more parts are added.
When can a counting scale give an inaccurate count?
When individual pieces vary too much in weight — mixed sizes, damaged parts, or inconsistent packaging — the sample's average unit weight no longer represents the whole batch, and the displayed count can be off by a meaningful margin. Too small a sample has the same effect.
How do I choose the right capacity and division?
Capacity should comfortably cover your heaviest typical batch weight (tray or container included) with some margin to spare. Division — the smallest weight increment the scale can register — should be fine enough relative to your individual piece weight; a division too coarse for a light part will count inaccurately even with a good sample.
